Founder & Director

Near & Far: Collaborative Art Project

Meghan is a dance artist based on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Born and raised in Sandwich MA, she began her studies on the Cape at Studio 878/TIDES Dance Company, The Academy of Performing Arts, Cape Cod Dance Center, and Sandwich Dance Academy. As a teen she studied at the Bossov Ballet Theatre and Boston Ballet School.

 

She received her BFA in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2012. She has continued her professional development at Impulstanz International Dance Festival in Austria, Bates Dance Festival (BDF), The Cunningham Trust, Limon Dance Company, Gibney Dance, and with AXIS Dance Company.

 

Performance: In New England, she has danced for Ali Kenner Brodsky & co, Betsy Miller Dance Projects, Prometheus Dance, Amorphous Dance Collective, and in projects by Shura Baryshnikov and Heidi Henderson. In New York City she has danced for choreographers: Jessica Rose Cipriano, Alexandra Rose/ Workhorse Dance, and Alexis Robbins/ kamrDANCE. She has performed at the Ailey CitiGroup Theatre, Bates Dance Festival, Massachusetts Dance Festival, New Jersey Modern Dance Festival, AS220, Jamestown Art Center, MAGMA, and the Dance Complex in Cambridge MA. She is currently a company member of Ali Kenner Brodsky & co

Teaching: She has been on faculty at Festival Ballet Providence (FBP), Providence Ballet Theatre, and as an adjunct at Brown University and Dean College; teaching Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, and Body Conditioning. She developed the "Dance in the Community" program at the Moses Brown School, where she mentored high school students while teaching diverse communities through physically inclusive dance. Currently she is on faculty at Cape Cod Dance Center.

 

Choreography: Her choreography has been presented at Brown University, Festival Ballet Providence, AS220, Bates Dance Festival Young Choreographers Showing, and The Dance Complex in Boston. She was a founding member of Amorphous Dance Collective, a collaborative dance company in Providence RI, where she choreographed and performed. She also founded and is director of Near & Far: Collaborative Art Project​ on Cape Cod, MA.

In 2017, she was an artist in residence at The Heron Dance, Yoga, and Meditation Center / P.O.T.E.G.P. Spiritual Guidance Center in Fall River, MA. She was also a recipient of the New England Dance Fund Grant through the New England Foundation of the Arts and the Simon Family Scholarship in NYC. 

 

As a dance artist, educator, and administrator, Meghan is passionate about developing projects centered around inclusive dance practices and community support through the arts.
